In the last week I have built Sparky a new indoor and outdoor enclosure. I still have a few humidity modificaitons to make but initially he seemed to really like the new houses. The past two days he has been hiding in one spot in the outdoor enclosure also burrowed and stares at the wall in the indoor enclosure. Could there be something wrong or could he just like certain spots better?

If you could post a couple of pictures it may help in determining what is going on. A new enclosure is stressful for a tortoise, especially a young one. They do find a "favorite" spot, which is the one that makes them feel the safest and lets them thermoregulate.

Its pretty normal for tortoises to "park" with their face into a wall, but some pics and more info might give some insight.

What are your four temps?

Mac did that one day in the corner of his new enclosure - wouldn't budge for anything. The next day, he wouldn't leave his house. He has since settled into the going in at night on his own. I have a 2' high block wall.
