Hey guys! New tortoise owner

Hey everybody!
Got myself a Horsefield tortoise 2 weeks ago and just came across this site which looks great!
I'm Mike, and this little guy here is Alan (pic attached)
He's a lot livelier than I expected and I could just watch his go for hours!

Are you using sand as your substrate? In my opinion, you would do well to get rid of it and try something else...orchid bark, coco coir, cypress mulc, even clean dirt or top soil.

May we know appx. where in the world you are?
