Help with lighting

I'm purchasing a 30" light fixture for a uv bulb to replace my coil bulb that I was told is not good for my Russian tortus. What kind of bulb should I get for the fixture. . Not sure what T8 and all that detail numbers mean. . Thanks

The dome fixtures with the ceramic sockets are the right fixtures for the right bulbs.

The dome fixtures are for Mercury vapor bulbs. He is looking for a tube bulb. @Tom can help with lighting for a russian. I use the Mercury vapor bulbs, so not real sure what tube one would be best.

I'm not sure anyone makes a 30" UV bulb. I've seen 24" and 36".

Tell me what distance the bulb will be from the tortoises shell.

If its around 10-12" then a 10.0 bulb will work. If its 17"+ then and Arcadia 12% HO bulb is excellent. I get mine here: http://www.lightyourreptiles.com

The fixture I'll be buying will be from zilla or all living things. . They both make a 30".. but it does say UVB.. not sure what the B means. . But I'll look at that sight Tom. .
