A Repti Glow 10.0 "allows UVB assisted photo conversion up to 20"/51 cm" per the package. A repti glow 5.0 is good to 12".
I perfer the 5.0, but if I had to use the 10.0, I would put it 20" away.

missgemma I think I posted these sites
http://www.uvguide.co.uk/fluorescenttuberesults.htm
and
http://www.russiantortoise.org/uvb.htm

These two sites shows how far you can place a fluorescent tube for the amount of UV light you want. (some people use a UVB detector to determine just how much UV is being transmitted. though those are quite expensive). It often depends on the type of bulb, the size (in diamiter) of the bulb, if the bulb has a reflector and how much of the enclosure is the bulb covering. A picture of your setup would greatly help us help you.
