From my exuberance with it I would say yes. But don't freak out. You can look up shell fungus 101 in the health section to fix it. But it's simple get a clean toothbrush and use indented soap and scrub the spot really good them apply some if the foot cream that's in the attached pic(a small tube is only like 6$). It will heal up quickly. I got that info from shell fungus 101 lol

Also a killer for shell rot is keeping it dry. When mine had it I separated him for a few days keeping him warm and dry
