Help ID please!

I have these growing thick all along my fence line. Need to know if I can let them grow wild or need to rip them up. I’m prepping my yard for a tortoise safe spring. And summer!

I’ve also noticed I have some groundsel that just started popping up, does anyone know what makes this toxic? Just curious of the science!
