I have never heard of a Red Russian tortoise - Russians are typically tan and black. Can you post a photo of your tortoise, so that we can confirm for you what you have? That will help you take care of it properly.

I'm curious to see pictures of your tort, too. You have me wondering what would have someone labeling a Russian as "Red"?? Reminds me of the "Russian Box Turtles" (so far off base it's not even funny!) that always pop up on Craigslist and KSL classifieds...
