Hello fellow Florida RF keepers! I need to build a new outdoor hide for my redfoot Lizzie. I am going to make it heated for when the temps drop during winter. My question is, does it need an insulated subfloor or is it ok to for the floor to be the ground (like a 5 sided cube instead of a 6 sided one). I plan to heat it from overhead during cold nights but also want to give her access during the day if she wants. Just wondering what others have done. We are located in Central Florida.

And here’s Lizzie…

This is my old enclosure video.
I use a pair of Home Depot composting bins with a single 50 watt CHE in my night houses during our 5 winter days per year.
That enclosure has changed a lot over the years. But it's still working great.
I only bring in my RF if the temps drop below 50°f.
