I use a Zoo Med Ceramic Heat Emitter at night in the winter. When it's warmer, I don't use anything at night.

Yeah I used the zoomed ceramic heater for the winter since it gets below 58F in the house at night and this kept my two enclosures a nice comfy 69F. It gives off no light and it.. doesn't really break to my knowledge unless you smash it and throw it against the ground or something.
