Here is a great new website, created by one of my professors, Dr. Rob Guralnick, and his team here at the University of Colorado Boulder. It's called The Map of Life, and it allows you to just type in a species to find out its distribution on a Google-style map. The data set includes a wide variety of vertebrates, including turtles and tortoises (of course), even extinct animals, and the team is continually expanding the data set. So, without any further ado, please enjoy ... The Map of Life!

Great idea, but it doesn't really work on my iPhone. I will try it on my laptop soon. This would be really useful information to have!
