Got my missing Sulcata back, but I have some concerns...

So I lost my Sulcata for about 3 weeks & today a lady returned him to me. But his shell is now very pale from the last time I had him. Any ideas on what might be wrong ?

It is hard to tell in this picture because I do not have a recent picture of my tortoise before I lost it. But the spots on the shell are now lighter/pale.. Any ideas on what might be wrong. I'm hoping he will be fine in a couple of weeks now that I can take care of him again...

I live in Rancho Cucamonga. The lady who had him didn't tell me many details other than her kids were playing with him the whole time, and found him in the street. So I'm guessing she had him since the day I lost him. He was gone for three weeks. My only guess is he was just in a container inside her home for those three weeks being poorly fed & without a heating lap.

My guess about the lighter color is probably due to much more sun exposure while he was gone.

I don't think it's any thing that's wrong. They usually get lighter as they grow and have more sun exposure
