You can offer food a week after hatching as long as the yolk sac is absorbed completely; however, the yolk sac can sustain them for up to 4 weeks and they may not accept food at only a week old.

Tiny earthworms or chopped earthworms. They are strongly attracted to movement.

Newly hatched box turtles will only take live food, but I think it's good to offer greens and vegetables to get them used to the smell even though they probably won't take them. As far as calcium, the tiniest little sprinkle of a high quality reptile calcium supplement on their food once a week is fine. Because they are so small, only use a very small amount. Be sure to keep them in a very moist setup with lots of hiding spots and a very shallow water dish. I would soak them in a small container of very shallow water once a day to make sure they are drinking. Feel free to ask any more questions!

I would also feed them in a separate container so the substrate doesn't stick to the food.

Nice, I have 1.2 eastern box turtles and 1.1 golf coast box turtles. No eggs yet though.

Definitely, my eastern male showed breeding behaviors this spring, but I don't think the females were receptive. I may get eggs later this summer from them but we'll have to see what happens.

I read that eastern turtles tend to Breen in June or early July so I think there's still a good chance for it to happen

Just a hobby, also for conservation. Box turtles are becoming more and more uncommon due to overcollection from the wild, so it's good to have healthy captive populations. I would probably sell some hatchlings to approved owners if I ever ended up with too many.

That's nice I feel the same about conservation but I gotta start small first hopefully I can get to the point where I can start helping others start ther own turtle community

If you ever look at the box turtle classifieds on king snake, it's crazy how many wild caught animals there are.
