Gopherus morafka?????

I've never heard of Gopherus morafka ... Are these desert tortoises?

I did more research on it and it appears that the Mojave desert tortoise and Sonoran desert tortoise have been split into two different species. So the Sonoran DT is now referred to as gopherus morafka. Here is a link to one of the articles:

yes kimber...this is correct....which is very sad on the flip side for the Agassizii...this discovery means that their population and ground have been drastically reduced....making them even more in danger....
