Hello! I'm improving my outdoor desert enclosure and would like suggestions on types of grass to plant that the torts will like. Bermuda is out of the question because my family is allergic to it… The grass needs to withstand HOT conditions. Tiff?
Thank you!

Hibiscuses do really well in the sun, and are edible. Other flowers like daises, geraniums and petunias would do ell too, with a lot of water. I don't grow a lot of grass, because I have a russian!

You need answers from people growing stuff in your area. Not much will survive there. I know mulberry trees do well there because I see them all over the place. Cactus too.

If your family is allergic to Bermuda grass, it is pretty likely they will be allergic to any grass.
