Good flood bulb

Hi is this flood bulb good I got it at Lowe's today?

Its fine if you are only trying to add light to the enclosure. It won't work as a basking bulb since LEDs don't throw any heat.

You need a regular incandescent flood bulb if you want to create a warm basking area. Don't use halogens, and don't get a spot bulb.

Ok, thanks I'll return it and get the 2 pack of the Phillips incandescent flood bulb.

Also be sure to pick a bulb that is a "BR" bulb not a "PAR". The PAR refers to parabolic reflector - which is a spot type bulb. You want the flood type incandescent which will start with a BR. Most incandescent flood bulbs will be a BR30.
