From what I have seen prices are pretty uniform throughout southern CA. With 9 young sulcatas from 15-50 pounds and 9 SA leopards from 10-20 pounds eating it daily, a $24 bail of orchard grass hay lasts me 3-4 months. Bermuda hay is cheaper, but I prefer the orchard grass.
$24!!!!!! Holy Cow! A bale of alfalfa is $18 and grass hay of any kind is way cheaper than that. They sure jack up the price down there for you rich folks! (JK)
Does anyone have an opinion about Teff hay? I am feeding a bale of it right now. It is finer stemmed than Bermuda the torts are eating it fine. It is native to Ethiopia.
