Fries? Frys? Lol Talking about baby fish not food, let's focus lol. Jk

But really, anyone have success with breeding and fry care? I don't plan to breed, but I do know that many people will look in there aquariums and find frys. Do I separate them or just let them be? Also can u tell when fish are prego? Lol I mean I know they spawn but something's gotta trigger egg production.

Guess it would be gravid fish.... Not pregnant. Maybe a different term?

If you want to keep the fry, then yes remove them or remove the adults. Most, not all will eat the fry. Some won't eat them but then if they get stressed they do. The only way I could tell if a fish were pregnant, it would get abnormally fat.

Removing the fry to a separate tank is the best way to ensure a high rate of survival, but if you just provide a bunch of leafy cover and little ornaments to hide in, that will also work. It's even said that parents that are raised in the tank along with fry often stop seeing them as food.

Hello I'm an avid fish breeder and I may be able to answer your questions, first I need to know what fish species you plan on breeding and a picture and a list of everything in your aquarium such as ph, hardness, and temp. Some species actually require the male and female to care for the young, or others one parent will take charge usually the female but you see more of this in your mouthbrooders. If you have any questions send my a pm I'd really like to help you out.
