My Aldabran tortoises only graze. They live on a large pasture with plenty of grasses, clover and dichondra. I don't feed them. Once a week I give them 12 cups of Mazuri Tortoise Diet just to be sure they are getting some vitamins and minerals in their diet.

Yvonne, are aldabras as dependent on calcium supplements as other tortoises? A curious thought.
Any of the large species of tortoise require extra calcium. They grow big faster than the smaller species and can use extra calcium in their diet.
Ours browse at will on just over one acre of improved pasture. We also provide mazuri, cactus, hay, and other fresh produce.
