Flaring out?

Hey! So I noticed on my Russian tortoise this morning that his shell was flaring out a little bit on the edges? I don’t know if this is normal or not

Agamemnon's is similar, & I've been meaning to ask here, too.

For the pros: is there a reason this happens?

Should I be doing something differently?

My Russian also has something similar.
