There is going to be a Fish and Game meeting regarding the red-eared sliders and bullfrogs being imported into California for the food trade on Feb 3rd .
Support letters are needed now to stop this.

Please write to John Carlson, Exec. Director, State Fish and Game Commission, 1416 9th Street, Sacramento CA 95814, or you can FAX 916-653-5040, email [email protected]. And if you can testify at the Feb 3rd meeting, so much the better.

Even if you have written before, please send the letter again, just refresh the date. Eric Mills [email protected] has been fighting to have this ban for over 15 years. Yes, I have written previously and even presented a list to them of the lakes and reservoirs and rivers where the red-ears have been released and are breeding. Feel free to do the same. The State of Oregon managed to ban the turtles years ago and the bullfrogs are severely restricted. Let's put in our 2 cents again. Thanks for whatever help you can provide. This butchering alive has to stop as well as the depletion of the native wildlife imported from other states.

Info has been re-posted from the Sacramento Turtle and Tortoise Club
