I adopted Trixie back in Oct 25 and almost immediately she wanted to brumate. I managed to keep her up a few more weeks but as she wasn't pooping I started making plans to brumate her.
Some of my family lives next door and had 3 different fridges to choose from but neither the desk cooler nor the dorm fridge could get to 45F . Thankfully there was lots of space in a fullsize fridge in their garage so in she went in a plastic shoe box with a couple of inches of Coco coir and dirt.
I checked in on her nervously every few days just to make sure that she was still alive and she was.
I finally couldn't take the nerves so after about 12 weeks I took her out just as a big storm hit Southern California and so she stayed inside with us a few days more in one of those too small wooden enclosures before getting released to her back your planter based enclosure.
BUT she still wasn't really eating yet and it wasn't till last week that she started to dig in.
Well, today I was gifted with the first, big mushy green poop since she's been with us.
I'm ecstatic. Finally!
Now if I could only get her to enjoy her bath more like a spa...
