Fertilizer, how long to wait?

How long should I wait after fertilizing my law to put my little Redfoot out for some sun and a graze? Bags usually have information for dogs or children about application wait times but I worry the small size of my tort might warrant a longer wait time.

I left it a good week. I didn't fertilize the bit where Shermann's pen is though. Also, during that week it rained and rained and rained!
