I'm trying to confirm if this is a female tortoise. It was sold to me as a female and it definitely has a smaller tail than my other male tortoise. Let me know if more photos are needed.

It looks like a female. What species is it?

Maybe a plastron photo or two of this one and the male next to each other for comparison would be helpful.

It looks like a female but it is easier to tell if there was a photo of the underside of the tail.
I only looked at it once as she doesn't like her tail pulled. It has the female * shape. She retracted too quickly for a photo and I don't want to do it again.

Thanks for confirming!

The fact that the tail is tucked into the side like that is the only reason that makes me think it could be a male. Do you know how old the tortoise is?

The seller told me that the previous owner had it 4 years and he had it for 2... it looks much older than that though judging by the shell.
