Okay so I am first time mom of a sulcata tortoise. He/she is now six months old and doing great from what I see. Right now totally inside with a false sunlight bulb and heat bulb. But after looking at pictures I wonder if I am feeding too much. Weighs 11.5 ounces and about size of hand fist. I saw pictures where ones at a year old are smaller. I feed one big meal at breakfast and 3 more feedings of just turnip greens through the day and only one leaf of it. Am I harming my turtle feeding more? I dont feed size of shell about half that 3 times a day

No, no.harm. I put a big pile of food at the feeding station. . . enough to still have a bit left at the end of the day.

Welcome, love the dark color of your skull. Do you have a name to put with your buddy?

I don't do ounces, so I had to do the conversion. 326 grams at 6 months old is great, and the carapace is growing nicely too.

They should be able to eat as much of the right foods as they want all day every day. Turnip greens are good once in a while, but not all the time.
