hi, it's getting colder near me now and I'm wondering if there is some kind of device to increase the heat coming out of the lamp. Or will I have to get a higher wattage. Sorry If I'm being stupid here

Cover the enclosure. That's really the only way to keep the cooler air in the house out of the enclosure.
