Hello! As a few of you guys already know, I'm new to the Tortoise Forum and I'm always up for suggestions and opinions to keep my future leopard tortoise happy and healthy. I just want to be as prepared and informed before I take one in as a permanent resident to my family. I have a few questions. How long will your leopard be required to be housed in a closed chamber enclosure from hatchling to prevent pyramiding? One year? Two? How many hours a day do they need to be outside to absorb their daily UVB during the summer (NJ=home)? And after absorbing the rays for the day, should I still need the UVB in the enclosure? I'm getting really excited to purchase my first tortoise, but I want to make sure I have it as perfect for him/her as I can. Thank you all! I'm glad I stumbled onto this forum. I think all you guys are awesome!!
