I hate to do this but the best thing for Edna is to find her a place that has a total proper set up.
We have been working on getting her enclosure set up but I just lost my job so I don't have the money to finish it and get it perfect.
I love her to death and want to make sure that she is taken care of, unfortunately I can't do that right now .

It is way to cold here to ship so you would have to be in Oregon or S.W. Washington. I can deliver her.
I have some pictures posted here

That was weird. Thought I replied to this.

Do you foresee your situation as temporary? Meaning should a local Tort person foster her or do you want her adopted?

I'm sorry about you losing your job and things not going well for you. I'm also sorry that it's too cold to ship Edna because I would love to have her out here in sunny Alhambra CA with Dale. Especially now that we've just built him a brand new big enclosure. She is a beautiful Cherryhead. If there's anyway to ship her out here I would be more than willing to take her.

What about a Tort transport? We have to have members in between Oregon and Allhambra CA. I know Candy would be a great home for her. :)

I looked up Alhambra Ca, hoping it was withing a reasonable driving distance but it is 15 hours away. I could get her to Klamath Falls because I have a friend there that I could go and visit but really can't drive farther then that
I could try and ship her but it is getting down to 10 degrees at night and not up to much more then 30 during the day. Although next week is supposed to be in the 40's so it might be okay. If someone can tell me how to ship her safely I can do it.

I would love to find a foster home for her but I really have no idea when I would be able to get her enclosure set up and I am not even sure if we are going to be able to stay in this house or if we are going to have to move to a smaller place.

After thinking about it I might be able to get her to Candy, or fairly close anyway. Let me talk to my friend and see if he is willing to drive part way there with me. If I go visit he may be willing to drive to somewhere in California to meet with Candy.

That would be awesome! If I lived anywhere near you guys, Reid and I would totally help out! I've seen it done with rescue dogs before, and I was going to get a Tegu from MI the same way (I am in WI).

Candy has been looking for a lady RF for months. I know she'd give her a great home. She's very committed, and that way, Shalon, you could still "see" and "hear" about her.

I'm in Central Calif. and wouldn't mind driving a couple hours to be part of the transport team.

I am thinking that sending her on a plane might be the best idea..although If I could to to Yvonne's and see all her turtles and tortoises I might reconsider!
I am still trying to arrange things with my friend but it looks like if I was to drive I would be heading into California on Saturday.

Thank you Meg I thought that was an awesome compliment coming from you. I would love to have her. :)

All you guys are awesome. Thanks for being you. We've been having some difficulty with our computer these past few days so I haven't been on as much (but I do check out some posts from work). Today I didn't get on until much later then usual and then when I did you were all trying to help Dale get him a mate. He is so happy he can't stand it (O.K. I'm really talking about myself). Well after I read what Meg wrote about being able to see and hear about Edna if I was to take her I also had a thought for you Shalon. That if things do work out and Edna comes to live here eventually we would have little ones and maybe by that times you would be in a better position and you could have first pick (since it would be a while before this happens because Dale is still pretty young). Just a thought.

Awww Thanks Candy! That's a compliment coming from you! But I (along with everybody else) have seen how much you and your boys care for Dale, and how much you do for him to make him happy. A model tortoise owner in any book, especially mine. I hope this all works out. :) I want a Dale baby someday too!

Hi...I adopted a young Sulcata from Delaware. They used ShipYourReptiles. He left DE at 3 pm Mon and arrived here in Mississippi at 9:30 Tues morning. I believe the shipping program is thru LLLReptile. They used UPS next day air. He arrived in good shape, tho he did poop in his container. Ate a couple hours later.
Good luck
Patsy

ShipYourReptiles (http://www.shipyourreptiles.com/) is through ProExotics. I haven't used the service, but I've heard good things from people who have.

Aww, I wish I was ready for another tortoise... I love redfoots! Lol. Oh well. I hope you can successfully get her to Candy and Dale, Shalon! :)

So nice to hear the lovely, stoic Edna may be headed to another good home. Good luck!

May it all happen soon and if it does you know we will all want to see some photo documentation of the event!;)

Edna is sooo very cute! Are you still looking for a home for her? I'm in Eastern WA, have 10 Redfoots of varying sizes and huge enclosures (outdoor) and a tortoise shed for winter accommodations. If you want to consider me as a potential adopter, I'd be happy to provide pics of my set up and any info you desire. I can foster her also until things get better for you.

Thanks.

Candy, I'm so excited for you and of course Dale. I hope it all works out. If I was near I would def be on the transport list to help too. What a great home Edna is going to have.

Hi there my direct email is [email protected]
I live in Washington state near the Tacoma area and I've been looking for a redfoot like yours. I can meet you where ever you need, also I can give you an adoption fee for her. I have a great place for her to be happy and grow up to a nice old age. With a big yard and plenty of sunshine. Send me a email and some contact information. I hope to here from you soon :)
