Lucky find! I've found some nice Large pieces at a decent price it's just shipping that's going to cost a lot. It's the same here mate. Probably cheaper than the USA but here is the thing....
I found it!
Outside an old woodworking shop that closed down 2 years ago. Surplus to requirements The people who were there just told me to take it lol. I think they expected me to take everything and clear the yard of rubbish lol but alls I wanted was the two pieces of wood. One is now in the pond the other is in my bearded dragon outdoor enclosure, which is basically a Wendy house lol, pull up pull down portable greenhouse...

Very true, good ideaGet in the car. Fill it with your kids (or grandkids if the case maybe) and head down to the woods or lake or river or swamp etc and get them searching for a good old lump!
Set a prize of burgers and ice-creams all round for finding the best there is to find!
No need to buy it man It occurs naturally....!
He looks like he's enjoying his enclosure!!!Added a plant and built more play stuff for Roger to explore.

And boy oh boy does he/she (jury is still out on this one lol) like to explore ...
Since the table was a piece of furniture, would it have been been partly held together with glue, or treated with chemical to color it or a sealant like varnish? It looks very natural- I was just wondering.Hahahaa yeah where there is a will there is a way I suppose
Don't worry about the driftwood it's not supported at all by that leg. Although that leg would be strong enough as it is a very hard dense wood they use for the tea tables. By the angle of my picture. Look at the images above where I first placed the centrepiece and you will see it is sturdy steady and safe!
It is 7cm on the thick end of the base and 5cm on the thin and where not totally level is leveled with bricks. My 2 year old stepson was sat on it and not so still (he is a boy lol) so rest assured it can take some welly
I'll post some more images to show you the filter placement and stuff.
But be warned lol its not for the feint of heart
EXCELLENT job!!!!!All bricks, driftwood and leaves were first sanitised in boiling water with a mild disinfectant 24 hours then soaked for 36 hours (give or take) in cold water. Changed the water after 6 hours twice then every 12 hours to make sure all disinfectant etc was out.
