Turtle and tortoise don't need companies. Another turtle is competition and bullying will a cure. The male will "have is way" with the female and there's nothing she can do to stop it.
There are some types of turtles and tortoises that do OK together but doesn't mean you should put them together. But if you have the room then get another female. THEN a male.
^What they said. Also, if you are going to have a group, females are better to have than males unless you're looking to breed. Either way, a MINIMUM of three is required, but four or more is better in a group. Just make sure you have adequate space for all of them. But I always suggest just having one on their own to reduce chances of bullying and fights. These fights/bullying etc are usually mistaken for "buddy-buddy"ness and people think it's cute
