Hi there. Now im one for getting really worried over tiny things concerning my tortoise, being a new owner of my hermanns Voldetort (3 y/o) but ive noticed his shell appears to be slightly ridged and the pastron almost appears to have a very slight concave area on the largest section near the middle20160925_155701-1.jpg 20160925_155714-1.jpg 20160925_155551-1.jpg 20160925_155645-1.jpg 20160925_155701-1.jpg 20160925_155714-1.jpg 20160925_155551-1.jpg 20160925_155645-1.jpgi'm unsure whether it is as a result from my care or if it has been from before as hes always had a slightly bumpy shell and i only got them last october at 2 years old. Do you think this looks like early pyramiding and if so, any advice on what to do to prevent it progressing further?

We've given a lot of lip service here on the Forum to pyramiding. I think it has gotten out of hand. We've made everyone so worried about it that it takes away from just enjoying your animals.

Pyramiding is something that you see in the sulcatas, leopards, stars, etc. You hardly ever see a pyramided testudo. Just take good care of your new baby and follow the care Chris writes about in his care sheet, and you'll be fine.
