Hey this is Dotty's new home :) lights have been moved down since pictures were taken and we're going to get another hide, some artificial plants, slate and maybe a couple more pebbles.
Got some seeds today too so going to be growing our own weeds and flowers for her :) hope its ok!! Also have an arcadia dual bulb on the way :)

Seems a lot of folks here like to create areas with a few small stones, in enclosures bedded with softer substrates, like coconut coir or fir bark. Seems like a cool idea. Is this so that the tortoise has some place hard to wear down his claws? Is it for better traction when climbing? Or is it for another reason?

BTW - Very nice enclosure, and quite spacious. Your Russian tortie looks quite content in there! :) However, shouldn't you cover that fluorescent light bulb with something to protect your own eyes?

I think it's the variety of terrain, try to make it a bit more interesting lol.
Hadn't really thought of our eyes to be honest :*-) I suppose we should, try not to look at it lol
