I feed my tortoises a natural diet of safe weeds I collect in the woods as well as some produce, but, I was thinking of trying out timothy pellets just to feed sometimes. I have mazuri tortoise chow , but my cooters seem to like it more than my torts.

I bought some, and I sometimes supplement my tortoises' diets with them, especially in the winter.

I soften the pellets in warm water and use them like a salad dressing over mixed greens.

My Russians seem to like it more than my omnivorous torts do....

Thanks Jamie. I'll give it a go.

Our tortoises wont eat them. I would like to try orchard grass pellets but they are hard to get on the east coast.

I soak the Timothy hay pellets until they turn to mush, and then I mix handfuls into my buckets o' greens for the day to add fiber and bulk.

I've never tried offering the pellets plain or by themselves, but all the tortoises eat it just fine when its mixed in.
