Im thinking of turning the heatlamp on at 6am and off at 8pm then heat matt on at 8pm til 11pm does this sound okay or will he get to cold?
And where do i put the heat matt under the heatlamp or under the hide? Thankyou,1

Hey Tyler. I can't tell you what's right and what's wrong, only what has been working for me. I put the heat mat under the hide & leave it on all night. The temps have stayed in the lower 80's. Also keep in mind that I have Sulcatas & you have a Red Foot. Hope that helps you a little bit. :)

The heat lamp time is right on. I'm not a big fan of the heat mats. An overall warm room temp is more ideal if it's possible.

I use a heat mat on the side of my enclosure all the time and the heat lamp on from about 7am to about 9pm for my sully. (he likes to sleep in like me)

im not to confident in heat maps. but the timing i do the same timing. i turn on at 6 and turn off at 8. and it has worked fine for me. :)
