Been working hard in summer heat (for an old lady), but new digs are inhabitable and Digger seems very pleased.

Chose an area in center of back yard.

Set to work by removing shrubs that are poisonous and finding natural materials. Rail road ties are well aged.
Digger's run 03.jpg The final shrub was a real chore - roots went deep and heat index was climbing. That's Digger on the rim.

Decided on fencing and began installation. The black area is organic soil.

Ta-daaaaa! Still want to paint the stakes and add more plants. Some of the pots will be removed as soon as more plants are added.

Well on our way to a completed "Turtle Run". Temps are climbing with heat index over 100 in the afternoon so Digger gets out around 7:00 am and comes in around noon so he can go back out about 6:00 pm until dark. I can tell he really likes his summer home. So glad the hardest part is behind me.
