Cuttlefish bone...Enough?

Is there an enough amount of cuttlefish bone you should give your tortoise if he's not eating it himself?

He doesn't have to nibble on it every day. If he does nibble on it at all then he is good and knows when he needs it.
If he never touches it then scrape it onto his food, just a pinch 2 times a week.

My tortoises avoid it 100% for weeks or even months. Then one day eat half of one in one sitting.
Keep a clean one available. You'll need to throw some away if they get nasty.
The tortoise will eat some when they need it.
