i just gave my Russian tort a cuttle bone for the first time and he has been enthusiastically going at it for 20 minutes. Having previously owned a parrot I just grabbed one from the bird section of the pet store and I'm now panicking - is this ok....is there tortoise cuttle bone?!?!

One in the same. There is not one specifically for tortoises. After a few days he won't touch the stuff. It's just new right now that's why he's crazy about it.

Mine are hot and cold on the cuddle bone. Right now, they all ignore them. I regularly snip off parts with pliers and crumble it into their food. I've found that some of the big pet shops sell broken cuddlebones in a bag for very little.
