Anyone know if a sump pump can be used to drain a tank? My husband has this idea because our syphoning hose doesnt suck very hard. Just curious if anyone uses these or know if it would work. THANKS!

I don't know why not. I use a sump pump as my pond filter motor. It works just fine. It's sitting inside a 5 gallon bucket on the bottom of the pond and it pumps the water through a garden hose up into the filter.

That's How I clean my 50 gallon! Works well and fast. And to fill it I just fill the sink and do it reverse to fill it back up.

yep. use it at both work & home... there are different sizes of pumps for different flow/forces you need. A Great investment if you ask me!
