what cleaning solution can i make that wont hurt my russian tortoise?

I use Nolvasan (Chlorhexidine diacetate) to clean all my reptile cages, decorations, bowls etc., it is perfectly safe and kills a lot of nasties. I get a pint at my local Agway and it lasts forever...you dilute it with water. I have a spray bottle of it and just clean and spray everything! It should sit/dry for 10 minutes to really kill everything. The only 'trick' with it is that it isn't effective forever once mixed, make small-ish batches and use distilled water and it is good to go for about 4-6 weeks (per the manufacturer). You can also get the generic for a bit less but I don't believe that has the virucide. It's safe and there is no need for hours of rinsing or worrying about fumes and residue.
