If the cost was not an issue would you prefer to live in the city or the country. Feel free to post reasons if desired.

I reside in the country within a city, best of both worlds. My interests and lifestyle for sure is more suitable for in the country, however I like having access to the city within minutes.

I'd definitely choose country any day; I am not really too fond of the city (though I have the misfortune of living in it lol). :)

Country-100%. This was the easiest poll yet for me to answer. I HATE the city. I grew up in the concrete jungle. Hated it. Plus, how could I keep hordes of sulcatas in the city?:D

I've been to big cities all over the world. They are all the same. NY, Paris, Seoule, Capetown, Johannesburg, Rabat, Mexico City, Amsterdam, Chicago, Pittsburg, New Orleans, Downtown L.A., etc...

They are all big, stinky, dirty places, full of all sorts of pollution, derelicts and criminals...

Of course this is just MY opinion...

Now country music, on the other hand. Not a big fan...

Country.

I hate living in the side especially a city in SoCal. We live near mountains (like everyone in southern California :p ) but about 95% of the time can't even see the outline of the mountains because the smog is so bad. I can only imagine everything I'm breathing in.

So for this reason & just because I like the beauty of the country I would much rather live there then in the city.

I answered this question so quickly I think I broke my key board, 100 % country all of the way.

I live in a little of both, the mountains of San Diego. I love it, but my kids wish there was more to do. I get tired of driving 45 min to get anywhere, but I prefer to stay home anyway. I may have to move across the country in a year to a less desirable place.

Country for sure! I lived in Tamap for about 4 years and it was cool, but in Indiana, I hate the cities. Can't wait till we sell our city house and get our country house where I can make Cooper a nice big area to roam!!!

I live in the country and love it. I don't often go to NYC, D.C or Boston but when I do it is alway's fun & exciting! I would never want to lose the buzz of excitement I feel going there and I don't think I would want to raise my family or tortoises in a city.

I am a country girl all the way. We live on the outskirts of the city which is almost country. To the left of me is the city and to the right is country, I am surrounded by carrot fields and almond groves and about once a month we get the whiff of the dairy farm down the road. So I'm not quite city and not quite country, so we have a little bit of both!

I'm right in between, I wouldn't want to live in the City, but I'd like to live close enough to a big city where the job market is good and shopping is convenient. I wouldn't want to live out in the middle of nowhere either.

I grew up in So Cal and I now live in a small town right outside of Philadelphia. I definitely prefer raising a family in a small town as opposed to where I was raised.

Well, if money was not an issue, I'd finally get my teleporter working. Then I could have 100's of acres to piddle fart around on, but when I needed a gallon of milk for the kids, it wouldn't take a couple hours of my time. And you can only do so much online shopping. ;D (I've lived that far from a market. It sucked)

Definitely country. I don't mind visiting the city, but then I can't wait to get home :)

I live in the country and love it, it's a great place to raise a family, but sometimes it's frustrating having to drive far to do anything. If money wasn't an object I'd love to have my home in the country, with an apartment in NYC that we could spend weekends visiting. With money not being as issue, we could go to fancy restaurants and see shows. Money is always an object though, isn't it?

I can't answer this one, as I like both. I tend to think while we're young adults the city is best, but perhaps its best to move to the country to raise kids.

The City- you can't beat the convenience. There's nothing like being able to walk to work, the grocery store, the pub (if you set things up "right" for city living). Never have to worry about a DUI. All kinds of social activity all around you, great for extroverts.

The Country- peace and quiet. You can get enough land to do about anything you want. Can be rough on extroverts though, as much as people make a big deal about people being more friendly in the country, distance makes social interaction tough. Be prepared to have to travel great distances to get things, etc.

I'm hoping to find a compromise....
Small Town Living, not a suburb, but a very small city out in the country. Hopefully this will capture some of the best of both worlds.

I guess you could say I live in the Suburbs....more like a little bit of country. But I'm right across the bridge to Manhattan. I LOVE Manhattan. The shopping, the food, the plays, the clubs.....so full of excitement. If I didn't have children, I would definitely have an apartment in Manhattan. Living here was a great place to raise kids, but I'm glad I'm so near the city.

The worse part about the mountains is when your kids start driving. And they say there is nothing to do but go to kick backs (new word for me) Mine play sports, some of the kids hunt, ride, rope, 4-H, and paint ball they also go to the Indian Casinos to play black jack. This may seem O/T, but it is the down side tio raising kids away from the city.
