Hi, I presently have 3 red footed tortoises & from their interactions with each other that I can obverse is they have slightly different behaviours toward one another. I was fortunate that none of them has aggressively attacked each other or any signs of a particular individual was hiding all day, not eating, under weight or avoiding each other. But noticed one would lower her head in the presence of a larger tortoise of the same sex, and whenever another 2 meet they moved their heads from side to side in a very animated way but never attacked each other. Is this only acknowledging each other's presence? At an early stages one would just stare at the other when first days of cohabitating but no other aggressions & would move on, I understand some people would probably interpret all this as bullying or aggressiveness but I think no animal would show zero reaction to another to live harmoniously.
