Can you tell if it is a boy or girl? Adopted from the rescue I volunteer with. Forgive the dirt under my nails, just spent 8 hours building enclosures for the box turtles at the rescue. Not sure of her/his age either but expect 20-30 years old, possibly. Previous owner was a little short on details.

He/she would not let me have that tail. It is a short tail. I will try again.

I was going to say that males have bigger, broader back feet, but I see that "Stumpy" has no back foot. Yes, he's male.

Yes, this is the one I posted last week that is missing an eye and a foot. He also has shell damage on top. We think he was attached by a dog sometime in his past. I am happy to have him. I was a special ed. teacher and administrator for 29 years so he is perfect for me, and he doesn't even need prosthesis. :)

I have a Mississippi mud turtle who lost her right front foot to an unknown predator when she was a tiny, wild hatchling. She is a lively, feisty little gal- :):<3:

I just love his face on the last pic! Lol! Looks very offended that you are displaying his private parts on social media:)
