Are you going to grow it and just clip Pieces of it off or just butcher it a couple leaves a day?

I only paid $6.50 for it. I'm going to plant it and let it get big. I love having food for my babies right in my yard. Plus since I just bought it, they will not get to eat it for awhile. I don't want to feed them any harmful chemicals. So I'll plant it and by the time they can get it it will hopeful be bigger. [/font]

Jealous!!! I don't think the Wal-marts in MN carry cactus :(

Not in CT, either!

But I bought some pads online. From two different dealers. I suck them in dirt in a pot to keep fresh. They were obviously two different species (or sub species). One shiny and the other with a kind of mat finish. Well the shiny one imediately produced new pads. I used up most of the mat ones and the new pads are ready to harvest. I left one pad of the velvety type, but it still has not produced anything. It is rooted though.
I now keep the pot in my garden window which has a southern exposure.
