Does anyone know if the juice that is in a pad of opuntia has any nutritional value? What I am trying to figure out is if some cactus juice was added to a piece of mazuri to moisten it would it add calcium and any of the other good stuff that cactus offers? thanks Len

I believe the juice is the best part[for the value of hydration] and I would believe if it came from the pad--it has the same nutritional value. If you are referring to the "bottled" cactus juices that are found in "organic" food isles---I would just be careful that there aren't any kind of preservatives that aide in "longer shelf-life".
