I have had two russian tortoises for a couple months now. When I got them they buried every single night where I could only see the top of their shell. For the last month though one of them is not digging anymore and sleeps often with his head out of his shell. Is this normal?

My Russian never digs and always sleeps sprawled out. I think it has to do with their comfort level.

My male dig, but female does not. I read some post to say sleeping without retreating means they are comfortable and feel safe of their home.
