Hey everybody.

Recently, Percy has been burying himself in the garden in a deep hole he has dug under the grass. He manages to fit the whole of him into it and stays there alll day!
Why would he be doing this? He's so far buried that I can only see one small part of his shell.

Any ideas on why he's doing this?

Yup, this seems to be a favorite past time for tortoises.
Currently, I have two of my Sullies in a borrow and they will come out twice or three times a day to munch on the grass.
Completely normal as far as I can tell.
They seem happy as pigs in poop to me

Many tortoises burrow for the reasons listed above.
They often live deep in burrows during the heat of the day and pooping and peeing here helps keep humidity levels up.
Lovely.
