Bug in tortoise/ or substrate

What is his??? And also I think my tortoise is shedding??? Quite odd because I see skin in his neck that's peeling off...

I don't remember the name of the bug, but it's very common. If you bake or boil your substrate before using it, it will take care of the bugs. Also, tortoises do shed.

Springtail, harmless and beneficial to make soil/substrate healthy...if you want to reduce the population you can add other bugs to eat those bugs...lol...pill bugs are a good addition...
