Box Turtle Smuggling Plants Into Hide

I have a female Eastern Box Turtle that I recently rescued. She's doing great and I have absolutely no issues with her. But recently I've noticed her moving her mosses and grasses into her hide for some reason. Is this because she wants to have something to curl up in or is it more of a nesting behavior?

I have never heard of any torts nesting like that. They usually just dig holes, maybe a few test holes, before they actually dig the one they want to actually use. I guess she just wants her hide decorated and more comfy

It's not unusual for box turtles at all.

Yes, very normal. Probably just a late-night snack. Although it's too warm here year-round for hibernation, I have several boxies that just drag greens into their burrows almost daily. I had one try to drag a whole watercress underground, but most of it was out of the hole. Looked pretty funny.
