bougainvillea plants

Are bougainvillea plants poisonous to tortoise? i know i've ask this on the thread i created about green leaf lettuce but I wanted it to be a new topic

it grows abundantly here in our country so i was wondering if its ok to feed it to a star tort?

according to what I could find the thorn and sap is toxic, or at the very least it says that they can irratate the skin like poisin ivy. At my old place I had a huge plant in my yard but my CDT never even ate it, he would just pass it by like it was nothing.
