Your baby doesn't need light at night. None at all. Darkness is better for it.

If extra heat is needed you should use a 'dark' heater such as a ceramic heat emitter (CHE)

I've found that any light at night will alter my tortoise's behavior versus darkness (w/ a CHE). I'd avoid this bulb if possible for tortoises. There is some anecdotal evidence that colored bulbs in particular can cause issues with tortoises, but I have never had occasion to observe this.

On a side note, I do love those bulbs for my Jungle Carpet Python. He has shown no behavior deviation versus complete darkness and it enables me to monitor his nocturnal behavior more easily without disturbance via flashlight/overhead light. I do have it on a dimmer switch and turned down to about 50% though. (This may be the key to its success, as it seemed a little bright at 100%, although I primarily put it on the dimmer switch to manage heat output.) After eating he'll spend most of his night under this bulb and when "hunting" this is one of his favorite perches.

Long story short: avoid this bulb for tortoises, but it is an overall good product in my experience.
