I've heard that Ambos are pretty small, so my question is what is the smallest species or subspecies of Asian box turtle?
There are four subspecies recognized for Cuora ambionensis. Not a real size difference in the subspecies but shell shape and coloration variations. Most get larger than our US box turtles, growing up to about 8". 6"-7" is a very common range for adults. The one we tend to see the most is C.a. lineataI've heard that Ambos are pretty small, so my question is what is the smallest species or subspecies of Asian box turtle?
